Taking a beloved Texas entertainment brand from a 2000s website to something that actually matches the energy inside

High 5 Exchange is a high-energy entertainment destination with multiple locations across Texas — bowling, games, food, drinks, and events all under one roof. The brand is bold, fun, and full of personality. The website was none of those things. Built in the early 2000s and never properly updated, it had fallen so far behind the actual experience that it was actively working against the business. WebRay came in to redesign and rebuild everything from scratch on Framer — turning a dated, flat website into something as loud, alive, and inviting as walking through the front door.

Challenges

Capturing a live experience on a screen — across multiple locations and activities

Entertainment venues are hard to design for because the real product is a feeling — and feelings don't translate automatically to web pages. The site needed to feel electric from the first scroll, not just look colourful. On top of that, High 5 Exchange operates multiple locations across Texas, each with its own offering, and a wide range of activities that all needed their own space without the site becoming overwhelming to navigate. There was also a practical challenge — the client didn't have enough photography to cover everything. The website needed to feel visually rich and fully realised from day one, with or without a complete image library.

Approach

Energy first, structure second — and AI imagery to fill the gaps

The design direction was built around the brand materials High 5 provided — their logo, colours, and typography — and pushed as far as they could go. Bold layouts, dynamic motion, strong typographic moments, and a colour palette used with full confidence rather than restraint. Every page was designed to feel like it had somewhere to go. The activities and location pages were built on Framer CMS, making it easy to manage and expand content across all Texas venues without developer help. Where photography fell short, we generated AI images carefully matched to the brand's visual tone — filling gaps without breaking the aesthetic. Popups, interactions, and motion were all considered as part of the experience, not added as extras. The client loved the final output and the energy it brought to the brand online.

High 5 Exchange launched with a website that finally reflects what it actually feels like to be there. The bold, dynamic design brings the brand's personality online in a way the old site never could. Visitors can explore locations, browse activities, book events, and get a real sense of what they're walking into — all from a site that moves and feels alive. The CMS-driven structure gives the team full control over content across all locations, making it easy to keep the site current as the business grows and new venues open.

A website as fun to browse as the venue is to visit
